Hello my natural beauties! My name is Rylan Harvey and I am the proud founder of Naturally U Photography. My journey as a photographer began my junior year of high school. It was my first year working on the yearbook staff as a sports editor but I got my first assignment as a photographer when my yearbook teacher, Mr. Tony Willis came up to me and asked if I could take some shots at the basketball game that night. The next morning, I reported back to class and showed him what I shot and he was stunned. I sometimes would submit photos to the yearbook template and my friends would compliment me on them and when people saw me carrying around the camera, they would stop me and ask for pictures because they loved my work. During senior year, I was now the co-editor of the yearbook, but still chose to take pictures but now I was strictly focused on my assignments, I decided to separate work from personal fun. My parents had also seen my work and loved it and to my surprise, on Christmas 2018, my parents gifted me with my first camera and I took it as a way of them telling me, “You have a gift, use it!” When my friends found out they were all encouraging me to start charging people for pictures but I never really took it into consideration. Until, a month after graduation, I was sitting in my room looking at photos that I captured of my friends at school and it brought back memories, I could  hear the reactions and compliments they gave me. I didn’t realize the talent that everyone in school said that I had and it didn’t register in my head that I should start a photography business until I officially started Naturally U Photography on June 1, 2019! 

 

In conclusion, I would like to say thank you to everyone that has chosen to work with myself, Naturally U Photography! Also, for those who would like to work with me, I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!
